SynFerm Consortium Meeting 16 January

The SynFerm consortium meeting took place as an online meeting on the 16th of January. St1Biokraft, Cortus, NSR AB, Q Power and BEIC were represented.

Among other, Q Power presented detailed measurements from the measurement campaign in Höganäs last year.

The next project consortium meeting is scheduled to the 13th of February 2025 at 10:00 CET as an online meeting.

SynFerm Consortium Meeting 19 December

The SynFerm consortium meeting took place as an online meeting on the 19th of December. St1Biokraft, Cortus, Linköping University, NSR AB, Q Power and BEIC were represented.

Among other, the tehcno-economic analysis including a sensitivity analysis were discussed.

The next project consortium meeting is scheduled to the 16th of January 2025 at 13:00 CET as an online meeting.

SynFerm Consortium Meeting 22 November

The SynFerm consortium meeting took place as an online meeting on the 22nd of November. St1Biokraft, Cortus, Linköping University, Q Power and BEIC were represented.

Among other, the tecno-economic analysis and an idea for a new project were discussed.

The next project consortium meeting is scheduled to the 19th of December at 13:00 CET as an online meeting.

SynFerm Consortium Meeting 18 October

The SynFerm consortium meeting took place as an online meeting on the 18th of October. Biokraft, Cortus, Linköping University, Q Power and BEIC were represented.

The pH levels during the measurement campaign was presented by Q Power and the mass and energy balance for the case with syngas + CO2 addition was presented by BEIC. The target of 10 L methane per L reactor volume and day was met.

The next project consortium meeting is scheduled to the 22nd of November at 10:30 CEST as an online meeting.

Project Consortium Meeting 20 September

The SynFerm consortium meeting took place as an online meeting on the 20th of September. Biokraft, Cortus, Linköping University, NSR, Q Power and BEIC were represented.

The project has been prolonged with 6 months. This implies that the project will finish on the 30th of June 2025.
The measured data from the pilot plant was discussed.
An animated video of the project has been finalised.

The next project consortium meeting is scheduled to the 18th of October at 10:00 CEST as an online meeting.

Project Consortium Meeting 16 August

The SynFerm consortium meeting took place as an online meeting on the 16th of August. Biokraft, Cortus, NSR, Q Power and BEIC were represented.

Several test runs have been conducted during the summer. Initially there was some problems with a CO analyzer but it was replaced in the beginning of July. Since bottled hydrogen was available, a test run with hydrogen addition was conducted, even though it was not part of the project application.

The biological methanation pilot plant will be dismantled and returned back to Finland at the end of August.

The next project consortium meeting is scheduled to the 20th of September at 13:00 CEST as an online meeting.

SynFerm visits FAU

On the 1st of August 2024, Jörgen Held visited Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU).
The Chair of Energy Process Engineering, Prof. Jürgen Karl and his co-workers conduct research related to among others biomass gasification, syngas cleaning, tar reforming, and biological and catalytical methanation.

SynFerm visits EnergyLab

On the 24th of July Jörgen Held visited EnergyLab in Vigo, Spain.
Gerardo Rodríguez Vázquez, Innovation and Markets Director gave an overview of the EnergyLab activities, such as dark fermentation, hydrogen production, distribution and utilisation, biological methanation, syngas fermentation, thermal gasification, gas cleaning and purification followed by a highly appreciated tour through the different laboratories,

The activities include among others the use of pulverized seashells for sorption enhanced gasification and co-gasification of sewage sludge with different types of biomasses.

It was concluded that there is a strong common interest between the SynFerm project and other projects where BEIC is involved and the activities at EnergyLab.
